have budget, must spend?

Draper city has an awesome trail network. They also have some pretty nice trailheads.
Here’s the latest one, just up the street from me, which is really more of an overlook than a trailhead:
And when I say “overlook” I really do mean, OVERlook.
As in, you must look over a fence in order to see the view. It’s almost like a mat that has conclusions you JUMP to.
So, what? Did they finish the benches and drinking fountain and signage, and then check the books and realize they hadn’t spent the whole budget yet?
“Say, do you know what would really finish off this spectacular overlook? A fence that not only doesn’t keep anything out or in, but also is constructed so close to the benches and at such a height that it actually obstructs the very view passersby have stopped to enjoy.”
Maybe a good book instead.

Perhaps the Suncrest Monkeywrench Gang will use said tool to remove that top rail.
BTW, have you taken a bike out on the new skills / stunt park down by the EQ? I’ve seen some photos / video and it looks fun.

The bike park still needs a bit more work, and is currently a bit muddy. But fun. Really fun. And it looks like it will only get better. Still a bunch of dirt down there to move around.

What we have here is a multi-use fence. It not only safeguards people of lower intelligence from plunging to their death, but also acts as a wind breaker and a snow drift fence.

You have an overlook AND a pile of manure? That must have been some budget.

I rent booster seats for $1.00 per hour or $5.00 for the day. Sanitizing wipes for an additional charge.
