Another blog person posted about the glass door on a display of pastries…with a ‘pull’ handle…she did and the glass shattered. All the goodies had to be tossed due to glass shards. And all she wanted was a fritter. Turns out that this wasn’t the first time for this display door to be broken, the replacement door had only slide indentation panels without the ‘pull’ handles.
We have Norman Doors at my office too. Thanks for giving me a name for them. Someone wrote “PULL” in marker on the glass, but it got erased. And it took just long enough to mentally decide “is that backward?” that it didn’t work so well. Glass doors that don’t swing both ways should be required to have a push plate.
Those would actually confuse me going the other way. A vertical handle indicates “pull” and a horizontal “push”. When you start messing with that, I have problems.
