Radio West Poo

December 1, 2008

Monday the topic on RadioWest, on NPR, was Poo.

You read that right. Poo.

I can’t believe they didn’t have me on as a guest. Seriously. Who knows or cares as much about this than me?

Here’s the synopsis:

“Some topics – no matter how common they are to all of us – just leave people a little uncomfortable. But one of these – practiced behind closed doors and talked about in euphemisms – is central to clean water and health throughout the world. Monday on RadioWest, we’re talking about – well, human waste. The journalist Rose George will join us for a look at something as natural as breathing and yet so unmentionable.”

Ha. Poo Butt Fart. Ha Ha Ha.

They talked about this book:

The Big Necessity: The Unmentionable World of Human Waste and Why It Matters

Okay then. Now you know what to get me for Christmas. I prefer hardcover.

I’m sorry your opus was scooped. But there’s still room for your expertise in this literary niche – here are some suggested titles:

    Human Fecal Matters

Funny Poop Stories (and the inevitable sequel: More Funny Poop Stories)

The History of Urination and Bowel Movements

Bathroom Practices: The Best and Worst

I’ve Gotta Go Now! A Novel of Urgent Necessity

Ode to Bidet: A Book of Poems

(I don’t recommend a childrens book because I think “Everybody Poops” already saturated the market, but if you want a challenge, go for it.)

This is why I rarely listen to NPR!! They get the wrong experts. They left out Dug “poomeister” A.

Just listened to the RadioWest Poo show. dug didn’t call in. Now I’m questioning dug’s devotion to this topic.

Wish i had known your predilections before we drove up to Moab – forget the politics discussion.

My bother in law is a colo-rectal surgeon (he has the BEST stories) and he gave me one of these from his files.

It is on the back of the bathroom door.
