today’s WTF moment brought to you by old macdonald, who apparently had a farm in pacific beach

April 14, 2009

During our Spring Break in Pacific Beach (San Diego), we would ride our bikes down the boardwalk every morning to get breakfast burritos and hot chocolate at Konos, and sit, eat, and sip while we stared out at the ocean.

So did this guy:

parrot

Yup, that’s a parrot, eating off his plate. Garrrr.

And after breakfast, we would head down to the beach and boogie board and sit and stare at the ocean.

So did this woman:

goat

Yup, that’s a goat. Following her like a dog.

So really? That’s how they roll in the land of milk and honey? Pirates and barnyard animals?

That’s cool, I guess.

Perhaps if the rest of the country would stop appropriating Cali culture they wouldn’t need to keep pushing the fringe. I’m sure that’s how the Calis see it.

Maybe she’s a White Sox fan and can’t help herself. I have no excuse for the parrot.

Cubs, Rachel. It’s the Cubs with the curse of the goat.

Thanks for not pointing out the goat while I was there. I would have packed up and gone home had I seen that.

Too bad you missed out on naked g-string rollerblading guy. In the warmer months he likes to roll along the boardwalk in festive gear (and nothing else). You know, maybe a flag sticking out of his crack on the fourth.

It’s not the land of fruits and nuts for nothing. Still, I love it here. And Konos rocks.
