ian toddguide avy class

Spent last Saturday with Ian and superguide/instructor Todd, learning about backcountry rescue, route finding, and snowpack assessment.

Oh, and we skied some very nice snow too.

Why didn’t MY dad do an avy class with me?

Oh yeah, we lived in Minnesota. So, you know, more like glacier safety. Or ice fishing I guess.

yeah, those places had great night skiing provided you wore a layer of seal rubber to stay warm.

not much in the way of backcountry skiing though. or avalanche training.
