december st. george

January 8, 2012

Rick S. is my brother in law, and I don’t give him enough credit for being smart. He’s very smart. For example, during the Christmas break, he proposed that we take a trip to St. George to ride mountain bikes.

See how smart he is? We went, and it was good.

Here is the video to prove it.

But first, a word about energy drinks.

If an energy drink says “Drink one hour before exercising,” that, in my limited experience, doesn’t mean “one half hour before exercising.”

The video below shows limited footage from our first ride, which was Goulds, JEM, RIM. That’s because my 30 minute mistake resulted in having a stomach full of sharp knives for about 3 hours. The same 3 hours we were riding Goulds, JEM, RIM. So I rode alone a lot. Sleepy hung back with me a bit. Thanks Sleepy.

Anyway. Here is the feeelm:

I maintained a 2.8 GPA during 6 years of college. That’s pretty smart.

Good video. Major pang of regret. Me not smart like Rick.

I really like climbing upper Goulds. Has such a nice rolly flow. Of course flying down JEM is a blast.

Love that south loop of Guac. Fun stunts. I like the ramp at 5:05.

yeah, guac is fun, but really, just that south loop is awesome. the rest is pretty standard.

i generally like upper goulds too, but with the gut bomb i had ticking, i wasn’t enjoying it very much.

I felt bad I couldn’t make this trip. Now I feel real bad!

  4. Brandon Says:

Love the clips around the 4:45 mark. Where did you mount the camera? With a bar mount?

    • dug Says:

yes, bar mount. the picture is jumpier, but i usually like it. i need to tighten the screws, i’m sure you noticed the weird artsy camera angles sometimes. i like to call it “found art.”

  5. Sleepy Says:

If “hanging back” means “hanging on” then you’re welcome. That was the longest ride I did all season. I say we do it again in a month.
